First Day of School 2018/2019

August 1st was the first day of school for these big kids!! We had such a great summer and it's really hard to see it end. We had gotten into such a good routine of sleeping in, playing in the pool and going out and having fun on weekdays. I really can't complain about starting a new routine though because I love a good schedule. :)

Madelynn started third grade this year. Between her two third grade teachers and her gifted teachers, she has SIX teachers this year. I'm crazy proud of how smart she is and how much she loves school. Last year she was in class with all new kids and it was a little difficult for her, but this year she has so many friends in her class. Even her best friend is in class with her, so she's thrilled about that!

Annabella started first grade. She is the most shy of our kids and was definitely timid about starting school again. She has such a free spirit and would be perfectly happy playing with tiny toys and loving on animals every day for the rest of her childhood. But she went right in, her face plastered with her nervous smile and got all set up. She's such a brave girl.

I was the most nervous about Noah starting pre-k. He was in preschool last year for 3 days a week, but only for 4 hours a day. This his first time being in full time school and my first time being a stay at home mom with no kids at home. It was a huge deal for me. Not a huge deal for him. He walked right in, put his things down and met the little girl next to him. He gave me a quick kiss and hug and was ready to get started.

I am so proud of all of them and so thankful to be their mama. Through the bad, the hard, the exciting, the amazing-it's all a gift. This new season of life that I'm in is something I'm going to have to get used to. The kids got out of school about 40 minutes early this week, so the days will be even longer going forward. The house is definitely cleaner than ever, but I am so lonely without them! I'm enjoying some quiet time, but it feels like the days last so long! This weekend I'm going to spend some time putting a schedule together and making a list of things that need to be done around the house. There are tons of chores and projects that need to be caught up on around here. Praying for a year full of joy and learning for these precious kiddos!
